Northern Marine colleagues in Glasgow came together today for a Wellbeing Day, with a range of activities designed to support wellbeing, encourage connection and provide a welcome change of pace during the working day.

The Wellbeing Fair formed the centrepiece of the day and gave colleagues the chance to visit stalls managed by a variety of external suppliers connected to health and wellbeing.

Alongside the fair itself, the wider programme included a breakfast bar, outdoor games, a sound bath, clothed massage sessions and an afternoon visit from an ice cream van.

The breakfast bar helped start the day on a positive note, with yoghurt, granola and a variety of toppings available to colleagues.

Later, the sound bath session offered a calming and reflective experience in the dimly lit head office auditorium, while the outdoor games introduced a more active and light-hearted element to the programme.

Activities included badminton, disc golf, swing ball, jenga, darts and archery, giving colleagues the opportunity to step away from their desks and take part in something different.

In the spirit of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, employees also had the chance to win a football top signed by Scotland midfielder John McGinn and comedian Kevin Bridges. Proceeds from the raffle – organised by Kilbowie Café – will go towards local school football teams in Clydebank, adding a community fundraising element to the day.

Kirsty Turner, Wellbeing Committee member and co-organiser, said: “We wanted the Wellbeing Day to offer something for everyone, whether that was time to relax, take part in an activity or simply have a break and connect with colleagues. It has been great to bring together a mix of experiences that support wellbeing in different ways.”

She added: “Wellbeing is not one-size-fits-all, so it was important that the day felt varied, welcoming and easy for people to get involved in. Many thanks to the Wellbeing Committee members who helped out and our colleagues in Facilities who helped make the day possible.”
