As Chief Officer, Denis Polustovskiy is acting as the Deck department team leader. He is also in charge of cargo operations and cargo related matters ensuring that the vessel arrives at loading/discharge ports in a full state of readiness to carry out the intended operation.

As Deck Cadet, Donna Chisholm supports deck operations through a number of key tasks. Donna has recently boarded a vessel for her first phase of onboard training having begun her learning onshore within Northern Marine Group.
"Having achieved a degree in an unrelated sector, I felt the time was right to forge a different career path in the Merchant Navy. As my onshore training thus far has been during the Covid-19 pandemic, much of the academic learning has been achieved through digital interaction. It is therefore really exciting to be at sea, learning valuable face to face lessons from experienced and highly qualified colleagues."

As Digital Innovation Manager, Jamie works within Northern Marine’s internal digital and technology unit. Jamie’s role is to look at ways that the business can elevate its adoption of technology to better serve its customers and create a workplace of the future.

As Supply Chain Officer, KhinAye Mon works in Northern Marine's Marine Supply headquarters in Singapore.
“Our supply infrastructure is strategically located across major shipping hubs including Rotterdam, Shanghai and Busan. Here in Singapore, from our 126,000 sqft warehouse and administration centre, my colleagues and I leverage technology to meet the warehousing and distribution needs of our customers. Some of my core responsibilities include purchase order planning of the technical stores category for which we hold over 1,200 items in stock, regular communications and negotiations with suppliers and ensuring we receive value for money through effective and efficient procurement. We are very proud of the work we do.”

As Fire Instructor within Maritime, Offshore and Renewables Training, Eddie Smilie delivers rigorous safety training to an international delegate base at Northern Marine’s purpose-built training centre.
