Training and Copetence Officer

The role holder will support the Client, Fleet Personnel, Operations & HSEQ Department to ensure that training matrices remain current, and Fleet Personnel are competent and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the Client – Fleet Training & Cadets in the delivery of the Training Department functions.
  • Liaise with the Client Personnel, Operations & HSEQ Departments to ensure that training matrices remain current, and report to these departments on compliance levels.
  • Regular auditing of company systems and training providers to ensure that training and certification is accurately recorded.
  • Offer routine guidance to vessels, sea staff and other internal and external stakeholders on training issues, referring detailed enquiries to the appropriate manager.
  • Maintaining client training and compliance reports. Delivering monthly client and training reports detailing compliance and expenditure levels.
  • Working closely with Personnel team and Recruitment Managers to identify position requirements within the Client’s Tanker fleet
  • Oversee the effective administration of the recruitment process including general administrative duties
  • Undertake shortlisting, interviews and selection of candidates
  • Communicating appropriate feedback to candidates
  • You may be asked from time to time be asked to undertake other tasks that are considered to be relevant to your position.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • HNC/HND in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Seagoing experience - Officer of the Watch certification
  • Previous experience working within the marine and/or offshore oil and gas industry as an
  • Officer of the Watch Deck or Engine.
  • Knowledge of industry legislation and best practice.
  • Experience working within an office environment.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • Able to adapt communication style and language to audience.
  • Ability to forge relationships and networks.
