Finance Client Reporting Team Leader

Reporting to a Finance Co-Ordinator, you will be responsible for managing a team of Finance Officers delivering critical financial information to our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your finance team leadership experience in a commercial finance function. You will work with senior internal stakeholders, drive process improvements, and develop your team – leading by example with your attitude and approach. Training on systems and processes will be provided, and prior industry experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team management, including development and appraisals, recruitment and training.
  • Ownership for the accuracy and timeliness of core deliverables.
  • Oversight and review of management accounts for key clients.
  • Point of contact for key internal stakeholders.
  • Escalation point for your team, resolving issues where possible and escalating where required.
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve their queries and document their requirements.
  • Full general ledger oversight and management for vessels within your remit.
  • Review month end balance sheet reconciliations, and set targets for clearing balances.
  • Authorise bank payments and review bank reconciliations.
  • Drive efficiency, automation and process improvements.
  • Support the delivery of projects and change.
  • Ensure robust and reliable process documentation is in place.
  • Ad hoc duties for clients and senior management.
  • Other tasks that are relevant and appropriate to the position.

 

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • A finance background and working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
  • Direct line management experience.
  • Management accounting and variance analysis reporting experience
  • Role model behaviour and professional attitude, setting the standard and inspiring your team.
  • Experience working in a dynamic team, in a busy finance function.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables, prioritise under pressure, and manage tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with accounting and financial reporting software.
  • Controls orientated, and a process improvement mindset.

 

Desirable

  • Fully qualified and a member of a professional accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).
  • Experience leading in a commercial finance role.
  • Project implementation experience.
