The Energos vessel underwent modification works at the Tahya Misr berth in Alexandria Port before being relocated to the Sonker Bulk Liquids Terminal in Ain Sokhna earlier this month.
Now operational, Energos Power receives imported LNG, regasifies it, and injects it directly into Egypt’s national gas grid—enhancing system flexibility and ensuring supply stability during peak demand periods.
In addition to managing the Energos Power’s technical operations, NMM was also tasked with supervising the integration of communication infrastructure with the terminal in Ain Sokhna.
The solutions reflect Northern Marine’s capability in complex LNG operations and FSRU vessel management.
“Our involvement reflects the depth of our LNG and FSRU expertise, which requires unique skills and familiarity with shoreside LNG terminal operations beyond what is traditionally required in conventional ship management.” said Ken Montgomery, Fleet Manager, Fleet Group 7.
“We’re proud to support Energos Infrastructure in delivering safe, efficient, and technically advanced energy solutions.”
The project reinforced Northern Marine’s reputation as a trusted partner in delivering integrated technical solutions for critical energy infrastructure worldwide.
NMM began providing full technical management and crewing services for the Energos Power in 2024 and supports several other LNG carriers and FSRUs within the Energos Infrastructure fleet.
Brian Bartlett, Chief Operating Officer, Energos Infrastructure, said: “Energos is proud to partner with Northern Marine Management to support our global FSRU operations. Their commitment and resourcefulness as a world-class ship manager enabled the rapid deployment of Energos Power to support Egypt’s critical energy needs.”
This initiative formed part of Egypt’s broader national energy strategy, which includes the deployment of multiple FSRUs to strengthen energy security and meet growing demand.
