Highly tailored ship and offshore asset management
6th Jul 2022
Over three years, approximately 500 seafarers will receive a specially tailored version of advanced bridge resource management training, supplemental to existing training programmes.
The new training, which utilises state of the art bridge simulators, demonstrates both Companies’ commitment to ensuring seafarers are trained to a standard beyond industry compliance.
The 5-day course at Clyde Training Solutions in Glasgow is an enhanced version of industry recognised bridge resource management (BRM) containing a mix of theory, case study analysis and high-pressure simulator exercises to sharpen officers’ ability to manage a range of onboard scenarios.
The bespoke training is aligned with Stena Line’s high operational standards and stringent safety procedures.
Adam Wright, Global Business Development Lead, Clyde Training Solutions said: “At Clyde Training Solutions we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive service to our maritime, offshore and renewables clients, ultimately delivering competency beyond compliance.
“We are very excited to support Stena Line in expanding and developing their already comprehensive seafarer training programme with the tailored Stena Advanced Bridge Resource Engagement course (SABRE).
“When tailoring a bespoke course, we work very closely with our clients to ensure that their specific Company culture, values and procedures are woven into the very fabric of the training, ensuring a seamless continuity of learning.”
Capt. Jörgen Lorén, Safety & Security Manager at Stena Line commented: “In Stena Line we hold effective bridge team management to be of paramount importance to the safety of our operation and were looking for a training solution as part of our own continuous improvement which would surpass the IMO model course and was tailored to the specific requirements of the ferry industry. We believe we have found this through our work with Clyde Training Solutions”
